Do you need to lose weight?

If this is the first time you consider this, you may be interested in joining a weight loss program or a weight loss center. You have a number of different options we will describe extensively in future articles.

Many people suffer from being overweight. It may result from a stocky build, slow metabolism, or some other physical reason, but it is a fact of life for many people. They will probably struggle with it their entire lives.

You have tried to lose weight? But it all comes back? Are you obese? Then there is a good chance that you might want to consider weight loss surgery.

To determine if surgery is right for you, there are a number of factors that you will need to take into consideration. One of those factors is your current weight and your desired weight. Again you have different options. There are a number of different surgical procedures that you can undergo. The most common and long term successful one is gastric bypass.

You might also have heard about some non-surgical options. Most weight loss without surgery procedures are still in clinical trial stage but they might become avalaible soon and they will be very popular. We will keep you posted about these new weight loss non-surgical procedures through our weight-loss-without-surgery blog.

There is a incision-less Weight Loss Surgery procedure, also known as POSE (Primary Obesity Surgery, Endolumenal) which allows surgeons to decrease the size of the patient’s stomach without making an incision on the outside of their body.

A non-surgical option awaiting FDA approval is the Endo-Barrier. This might be of interest for the obese and as well those with diabetes, type 2. This gastrointestinal liner is inserted through the patient’s mouth and into the first two feet of the small intestine.

A gastric balloon might be ideal for patients with obesity problems who have tried already different ways to lose weight, but would prefer to avoid obesity surgery. A balloon will be inserted into the stomach and inflated. This reduces the stomach capacity and the amount of food a person can comfortably eat. A few countries have approved this procedure.

Use this article and the internet to find out the different weight loss options available to you. When you have researched your different options then it is time to speak with a healthcare professional or check up with your doctor. If you are more than 50 pounds overweight, it is unwise to start any diet plan or exercise until you are medically cleared by your physician. Your doctor can also advise you on different weight loss surgeries.
